Can we talk about the Matildas for a minute?

It seems that everyone else is, so why not us!

How incredibly awesome are they as individuals, women, athletes, a team, ambassadors for Australia, soccer and women’s sport!

I’m amazed and delighted at the excitement, engagement, passion, pride and even obsession this World Cup competition and this team are igniting across the country and the world. From little kids to hardcore macho males, to little old ladies and everyone in between, the Matildas have got us all talking, watching and cheering them on.

It’s pretty remarkable and it seems to have come out of nowhere – unless I’ve been living under a rock for the last little while.

I love it! I love everything about it! I love that we have such awesome role models for our kids. I love that we are uniting as a nation over a woman’s soccer team.

How good is that.

And while we’re talking about women’s sport, I’m pretty impressed at the NRLW and AFLW competitions and the followings that the teams are getting in this male dominated arena.

So well done ladies. Keep up the great work.
